Accompanying persons' programme

At this time of year people can (hopefully) still enjoy in swimming in the Adriatic sea or in indoor pools in Opatija hotels. In Opatija and its surroundings (Učka nature park) there are numerous park and hiking trails, including 12 km long promenade along the sea. On the Opatija rivera, beside Opatija with its villas and parks, there are several small medieval towns (i.e. Lovran, Moščenice, Brseč) and fisherman villages (Volosko, Moščenička Draga) that are worth seeing. There is wide offer of medical programmes, including health checks in the Thalassotherapia Clinic, fitness rooms, tennis courts. Diving excursions can be arranged for interested persons.

Travel agencies organize numerous excursions, for example to Pula (3000 years old town with remains of Roman buildings including one of the best preserved arenas), Istra peninsula with its small cities (i.e. Motovun), wine and olive oil roads, Adriatic Islands, National park Brijuni (an extraordinary blend of natural, historical and cultural heritage), Plitvice National park (green oasis in the karst with marvelous lakes and waterfalls), Postojna Cave (the most visited cave in Europe), Škocjanske Jame (impressive underground canyon included in UNESCO's World Heritage List), picturesque castle of Predjama.
